Mr. Joe Scott Hawthorne, age 78 of 120 Greybridge Road, Pelzer died on Wednesday, August 08, 2018. He was a son of the late Elijah Hawthorne and Louise Chapman. He is survived by three sons, Lonnie (Glenda) Hawthorne of Pelzer, South Carolina, Jeffery Hawthorne of Greer, South Carolina, and Michael Hawthorne of Charlotte, North Carolina; four daughters, Debra Harris of Greer, South Carolina, Lisa Jackson and Berkita Miles both of Piedmont, South Carolina, and Brittany Hawthorne of Mauldin, South Carolina; five brothers, Twyman Hawthorne, Nathaniel (Barbara) Hawthorne, Edward (Patricia) Hawthorne, Sr., and Ronnie (Anna) Hawthorne all of Piedmont, South Carolina, and Thomas Hawthorne of Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters, Gwendolyn (Robert) Pitts, Mary Alice (Lifford) Ware, and Bernice (Reginald) Anderson all of Greenville, South Carolina; fifteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 12 noon Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Reedy Fork Baptist Church with Pastor T.E. Simmons officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm, and Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 11:00-12:00 at Reedy Fork Baptist Church, Simpsonville.
